As
high school students, the FIRST Robotics students at Assabet Valley are
always busy maintaining what is expected of them in school and at work.
In addition to this, many have seemed to manage time to help out their
community.
From freshmen to seniors, it seems that each one has found some way to help those in need.
As a freshman, Josh Belanger was an alter server at his church and
senior Rebecca Popek has helped coach a local girl’s softball team.
The Watertown Relay for Life receives support from junior Becky O’Brien
each year. As part of a group, she joins her friends in coming up with funny
outfits for each themed walk.
As a freshman, Ian Ebstein helped his community by picking up trash around a local park and parking lot.

While the robot was nearly completed Saturday, February 9, 2008, team members David Santospago, Danielle Trotta, Ian Ebstein, Tim Donohue, Valerie Gordon, and Sean Hughes went outside the school with a few trash bags and collected some trash throughout the school's grounds. After an hour passed and the students collected more than 2 and a half bags of trash, the grounds were cleaner and more representative of the students who attend AV. |
